article on Eco -poseur

(Ps. error occurred while uploading my articles and i only realised it now)

I refer to the article ‘Still carrying plastic bags?’ dated 29/07/07. Indeed, this world we are living in is getting all screwy due to the effects of global warming, such as the heavy rain as brought up by the writer herself. Yet, there is also no doubt that many leaders around the world are putting in huge efforts to create an awareness in the people, and such acts of green-ness have brought about a fashion in the people, those that go green due to the uprising trend and being thought of as cool.

Enough said of all the boring stuffs on how people would aggravate the environment through our actions as the scientists have been trying to bring across in the past years. It is a widely known fact that something has to be done about the issue but what has it got to be?

As the writer has put across, going green without the right motives would be better than being not bothered at all, but would the intention still be there after a while? Just like how people start buying fashionable recycling bags, while a sum of people would be reminded to carry it around, other typical citizen would be tired of it after a while and chuck it aside, losing the purpose of being green.

Of course people would be appealed to going green with all the flashy styles, even I would be pretty much attracted to all those actions and excitement, and I agree it’s good that they would provide us with motivation on going green, but let’s not forget about it all at the end of it, alright? Having a big hoo-hah about going green, like the live earth concert, and leaving a mess behind after everything has ended definitely wasn’t the way to go. Pretty unsightly, truth?

Personally, I am not all crazy about going green, but occasionally, get reminded to do the right things too. I feel that that’s the most basic thing that I can help out with, without spending unnecessary money over fashion with the intent of going green. As stated, the littlest actions could make a difference too. Even in life, trying to make a different is the same. Big boosters of motivation would help, but if you are not going to do anything about it, you’re better off with just taking one step at a time.
I won’t proclaim myself being the greenest of people, but at least I know that I am constantly doing my part to help, on the littlest actions.
